The conclusion is simple: Buy clothes you really need and that you both can and will wear for a long time. Less consumption, emissions and money spent.

Take Bjørn Stian below as an example. He has worn his Grandpa longsleeve about 100 times, equalling about 1,1 Euro and 0,13kg CO2 per wear – and he's still going strong. Check back for updated numbers!

Last but not least, we teach you how to take the best possible care of your clothes. Follow the bullets below to wear your clothes longer and make them both cheaper and more environmentally friendly per wear.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO MAKE YOUR CLOTHES LAST

✔ Wash your clothes as little as possible

✔ Repair if, and as soon as, necessary

✔ Learn how to remove stains, and get to them as soon as they appear

✔ Store them carefully, and prevent moths and other pests from getting to them

✔ Wear an apron while making food (and a bib while you eat)

✔ Wear deodorant without aluminium, or let your deodorant dry completely before putting on your shirt (or just don't wear deodorant)

✔ Redesign or use it for something else once it is completely worn out

✔ Be aware of your surroundings – maybe don't go play in the rose bushes while wearing wool and silk

Treat your clothes well and wear them as long as possible.

Good for your wallet and good for the environment.
